A strict diet is usually difficult because of our hunger. As soon as we eat one meal, we find ourselves already longing for the next. However, what if we told you that hunger wouldn’t be an issue with our hCG diet shots? This weight loss option is extremely effective and works fast, but only if you adhere to the eating guidelines. The low calorie diet insists that you eat no more than 500 calories a day. While that may seem low, the specific foods that make up the diet will keep your energy levels high and your hunger level low throughout the day. The hCG diet is quite specific on how you should spread out these calories!
We have a list of foods you are typically allowed to eat on this diet, but make a note of your own dietary needs before we get started. For those of you who are diabetic, you and your doctor will need to come up with a separate plan to ensure that your body’s needs are being met. If there are foods on the list that you simply “don’t like,” you do not get to just replace them with another food that isn’t on the list. Please note that portion is everything when it comes to this diet. If you are worried about eating more than the proper amount, you may consider investing in a small kitchen scale, especially for your protein. We recommend choosing organic protein when possible and searching for grass-fed red meats. For all other foods, try to make them organic too! The local farmer’s market is a great place to find these.
Foods List for hCG
You are allowed to eat up to 200 grams of protein per day. However, limit yourself to only 100 grams per meal to ensure that you stay fuller longer. Trim the fat, and avoid cooking anything on the bone. We suggest choosing from this list:
- Seafood: White fish, lobster, crab, shrimp, scallops
- Meat: Extra lean beef, buffalo, chicken
- Other: Three egg whites
Regardless of your meal and what phase of hCG you are on, you should always be eating vegetables! However, not all veggies are created equal. Make sure to adhere to this list. Your vegetables should take up only one cup per meal, meaning that you end up eating two cups per day. Again, do not eat both cups in one sitting.
- Beet greens
- Green salad
- Mixed greens
- Red radishes
Most fruits we enjoy on a daily basis have high levels of sugar. In order to get the best results, do not stray from this fruits list. Just like the protein list and vegetable list, it’s important to limit yourself to only two servings per day of your chosen fruit.
We know everyone likes starch. After all, that morning bagel is probably going to miss you once you start your hCG diet shots. This diet is extremely limiting on what starches you can eat, as these are what cause you to gain the most weight. Keep in mind that making these changes will help you melt the fat off faster than you ever thought possible!
- Starches: The only starches you are permitted to eat include Melba toast and Grissini breadsticks. However, consume these as sparingly as you can.
- Miscellaneous: If you want some extra seasoning or treats, you can add any of the following to your diet plan:
- Apple cider vinegar
- Mustard powder
- Salt, pepper, and other natural spices
- Braggs amino acids
- Herbal tea and coffee
Never use oil, butter, or dressing! Also, do your best to avoid seasoning mixes. These often contain excess salt and sugar.
Sticking to Your Plan!
While these instructions may sound strict, they have been carefully chosen to give you the best results. These foods help your body lose weight quickly without retaining fluids and causing you to bloat. We highly recommend meal planning to know exactly what meals you will be getting and ensuring that you don’t fall off the wagon and waste the hCG shots! Most users find it best to eat two small meals a day at lunch and dinner time. If you are worried about breakfast, try drinking tea or coffee to tide you over.
If that doesn’t work for you, then that’s alright! Other people find that they have more success spreading out their meals and eating only breakfast and dinner. Or, you can divide up your meals by eating lunch and choosing to move a fruit serving to breakfast time.
Keep in mind that you should never combine two of any category into the same meal! This means that you should not eat your chicken and your fish at lunch.
