Don’t Settle for Anything but the Best
If you took a quick poll, we’re pretty sure that everyone you asked would say that they don’t want a double chin. A double chin, put simply, is just an excess of fat under the chin that makes the neck appear less than appealing. While there are surgeries that are available to eliminate a double chin, many people feel it is not a serious enough cosmetic issue to warrant going under the knife. Luckily, Kybella offers a solution to this problem.
What Does Kybella Treatment Entail?
Kybella is an FDA approved serum that is composed of deoxycholic acid which, when injected into a double chin, works to break down the fat cells which, in turn, are absorbed by the body. Each treatment session lasts about 15 minutes, so patients can immediately return to whatever they were doing before treatment started. During the process, a series of tiny injections are made into the chin area. After the injections have been administered, the fat cells begin to rupture and are then slowly absorbed by the body. Results of Kybella treatment begin to become noticeable in a few weeks time and, typically, patients will have to undergo approximately four to six treatment sessions, with a month in between each session, in order to eliminate their double chin. While the process is a bit timely, the treatment permanently removes the fat cells located in the double chin, meaning the that treatment will not have to be administered again.
One of the most common questions that our patients have is whether or not the treatment hurts. While we can’t claim that the treatment is entirely pain-free, because it does involve injections, after all, the amount of discomfort that most people experience is minimal when compared to the benefits that the treatment offers. The most common side effect of Kybella treatments are temporary swelling bruising, or redness around the sites of the injections. In some cases, temporary nerve damage can occur as a result of the injections, however, this side effect is extremely rare.
