  • Increase Blood Flow: One of the easiest ways you can lower your risk of spider vein development is to simply exercise a little bit more. Running or walking helps to increase leg circulation which, in turn, helps to prevent spider veins from developing by keeping your veins as healthy as possible. If you’re worried that you don’t have time to run or walk during the day, even some simple desk exercises can go a long way in reducing your risk for spider veins. Simply remember to move your legs around during the day in order to make sure that you’re getting much needed blood flow to the areas of your legs that are at risk for spider veins.
  • Relieve Pressure: To help reduce the likelihood of developing spider veins, we suggest that you maintain a healthy weight and avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time. Typically, these socks are used by diabetics to ensure that their feet and lower legs are receiving the proper amount of circulation, however, they also work wonders for people who have to be on their feet all day. By providing slight compression throughout the day, these socks go a long way in making sure that your calves and feet are receiving an adequate amount of blood flow, reducing the chances that spider veins will develop.
  • Elevation: Another great way to inhibit the development of spider veins is to prop up your feet after you are done working for the day. In order to be effective, your feet must be higher than your heart, so we suggest that you use a couple of pillows on your couch or bed to slightly elevate your feet while you lean back. Doing this will make your heart work harder to pump blood to your legs, flexing your veins and ensuring that they are receiving the proper amount of blood flow.
  • Sunscreen: While the majority of spider veins develop along the legs, some people have them appear on their cheeks or nose due to the extremely thin skin coverage that these areas of the body have. To avoid this, we suggest that you use a facial moisturizer with sunscreen every single day.
